[Dixielandjazz] Looking for "Way Down Yonder...." patter recordings

Les,

I probably fired that e-mail off too fast. Here’s an older version:

Layton and Johnstone 1927

https://youtu.be/L-vHHGC_dWk

Paul Whiteman’s group plays the patter, but doesn’t sing it.

I know there’s also a female singer out there who does the patter (I thought it was with Sharkey Bonano, but – if so – I can’t find it).

I’ll keep looking.

Subject: [Dixielandjazz] Looking for "Way Down Yonder...." patter recordings

Folks,

One of the bands I'm fortunate enough to play in would like to add the patter to "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans". I'm well familiar with the tune, and have the Littlefield lead sheets with the patter included, but I've never played the patter before and I don't know any recordings which include the patter. Can the peanut gallery refer me to any (particularly on Youtube or similar) just so I can get the feel of it?

Thanks,

-Les Elkins
