I remember seeing that photo, but I don't recall any details, and I 
doubt I knew of the musicians or I'd remember it more clearly.  I'm 
responding because it reminds me of an incident in the D.C. area many 
years ago -- probably in the 1980s.  I was at a joint in Alexandria 
listening to Lou Weinberg's Basin Street Jazz Band.  They had a 
busty, lusty, devil-may-care singer named Stella at the time, short 
on vocal chords but long on fun and charisma.

She came on for her number, bowed deeply to the audience when she 
finished, and skipped off the stage.  Meanwhile, all the guys in the 
band were falling down laughing, trying desperately to catch their 
breath and compose themselves for another tune.

At the next break, I asked them what had set them off like 
that.  Turns out that Stella had come on stage wearing a short 
skirt...and no panties.
