Friends,

Decima was a 8-9-piece band that was formed in Moscow in 1984 and
enjoyed quite a bit of success on the Soviet/Russian jazz scene. In
1998 they chaned their name to the Hot Nine and are evidently still
in business.

I got a couple of well-recorded rehearsal tapes from them in 1994 or
so, one of which didn't have any titles listed. I've figured out 16
of the 17 titles, but one still has me guessing. If you'd like to
give it a listen and weigh in, you'll find it at
http://dickbaker.org/Decima/ - click on "02 unknown.mpg."

It's possible that it's a Russian folk or pop song, but I rather
doubt it, since--as you'll see at that web address--all the rest of
their tunes are American jazz standards, with a heavy helping of Ellington.
