A short comment. I’ve been very interested in Brazilian music for a while now. The recordings made in the 1920s by Pixinguinha (that’s it. One word name) sound very much related to New Orleans Jazz. If someone told me they were 1920s recordings made in New Orleans I would have believed it. I mean like trombone players that sound like Santo Pecora, etc. I’ve asked Brazilian musicians if there was anything written about this similarity that I could obtain and they told me that it there is a lot but it is all in Portuguese. Not sure If I’ve contributed anything here, but if you check out Pixinguinha you’ll see what I mean.
