Victor lives in San Francisco Bay Area. He’s avid jazz-fan and worked for Levi Strauss & company prior to retirement. He was famous for his gift of Levi’s socks to the musicians. Neat anecdote in its own right.
Victor writes this about Sinatra. Thanks, Victor.

Subject: Frank Sinatra
Hi Norman True or not, this was told to me when I owned a house
in Palm Springs many years ago.
When Sinatra's mother died, several eulogies were given by various
religious entities because of Sinatra's fame and because his mother
lived in Palm Springs (a huge, fenced residence property - where
he probably stayed when in the area).
A few eulogies were perfunctory but an impassioned one by Rabbi Joe
Hurwitz (whom I knew) so impressed Sinatra that he wanted to give
the rabbi a token of his appreciation. The rabbi declined and suggested
he make a contribution to the rabbi's temple.
Sinatra did so - to the tune of $300,000 to pay off their mortgage.
As stated above, whether true or not, I never had the inclination to
find out anything about it.
Another possible anecdote ? Victor
