Amongst ‘”real” professional musicians, being late is barely tolerated. If it happens consistantly, chances are that musician will not be called for gigs.
Being a professional musician is a business and should be treated as such.
I once told a musician that if he was late again, I’d deduct $10 from his pay each time. That cured the problem for a while and then he slipped back into his old ways for a while. He’s been pretty good lately.
Maybe changing the thread a little, or possibly adding to it, How about weird things that musicians do on gigs?
There was a piano player who lost his job with
a band for the following reason.
They were playing a job aboard a bay cruise ship. He was caught at the buffet table shoveling fresh crab into a lunch box to take home.
