In addition to the info supplied by Tom Bartlett, Turk also used a Conn Gold Tone Mouthpiece model 22 from the late 1940's until he stopped playing. These are very rare and hard to find mouthpieces that came in only 2 models, the #21 and 22. They are similar in depth and feel to a Bach 11C except they have a large cushion type rim. The #21 has a slightly deeper cup. Turk always said that anybody crazy enough to emulate his playing should use a Conn 32H Trombone with a Conn Gold Tone mouthpiece for best results. But the late Jim Snyder did an excellent job of playing the Turk style on what I think was a silver plated Bach? Not sure about his mouthpiece.John Gill
