11 years would be just fine by me, but I could see myself still hosting the
jams well into my 70's and let my son take over dealing with fridge relays
and inspectors.

we have a really good spot for music, no neighbours, a bank on one side, a
yoga centre on the other, both are long gone home before the nightlife
starts. Behind is a parking lot and two doors over is the live repertoire
theatre and another bar. Across the street is a bank and a parking lot with
the region's newspaper and radio station offices down the block a bit.

and I have a very good team of high-profile and experienced people who are
well connected to the local scene, and they have a keen interest in making
it work, so I'd have no qualms about leaving the shop in the hands of any
one of them if I needed to play a gig or just take a break.  Like I say,
there was the accidental confluence of forces beyond my control and there I
was, standing in the doorway with the keys in my hand.

And while the mood of the place may be 1920, I'm realistic enough to
recognize that to say 'jazz' needs to stretch from the Newsboys all the way
up past electric Miles and some of the brass-backed hiphop (the kids are
alright) but Saturday afternoons at minimum are MINE for OKOM  and probably
a few more slots as well :)
