[Dixielandjazz] Jabbo Smith--who's scatting?

I've been rediscovering Jabbo Smith on youtube. Lots of hot uptempos where he's on fire, but on the track below he's exceptional playing lead and doing muted double-time behind Omer Simeon. The all-scat vocal is also wonderful. Does anybody know if it;'s Jabbo? This was one of many 1929 Jabbo recordings I heard. Was any trumpeter besides Louis playing with such zest and range at that time? His conception anticipates Eldridge and is way ahead of his time, it seems to me.
