[Dixielandjazz] Doris Day (!)--pop/jazz continuum

My favourite version of "If You Were Mine" - surpassing even Billie
Holiday's recording - is that of Frankie Laine with Buck Clayton's
Orchestra.As in any continuum it's difficult to discern where jazz ends and
pop begins. Is the band jazz and Frankie pop? Does it matter?
