Dear Joe,
In my very long band-leading experience I've noticed that it is likely to be the trumpet player, clarinettist and (for some reason) the double bass player who arrive in the last few minutes before start time.
However, the girl singer either gets there very early (then vanishes for coffee) or walks in during the first tune.
