CARL SONNY LEYLAND

Whether playing solo or with his trio, Sonny Leyland's playing
displays an infectious spontaneity, providing plenty of surprises for
the listener. His repertoire includes ragtime & early jazz, plus blues
and rockabilly styles. You'll love his vocals and storytelling as well
as his piano playing! While he possesses the necessary vocabulary to
pay tribute to the greats of old, he refuses to limit himself and
prefers to let each performance be an opportunity to say something
new. In 2010, Leyland became an honored inductee into the Boogie
Woogie Piano Hall of Fame.

Arrive early and enjoy the Elks' breakfast buffet, 9 to 11 a.m.
ADMISSION: $10 STJS members/$15 non-mem.

SAVE the SAC. MUSIC FESTIVAL

Dear Festival Friends and Fans,

WE NEED YOUR HELP!! You may or may not have heard that the STJS is in
dire straights. We brought in a little money from the 2014 Sacramento
Music Festival but not enough to sustain our overhead for the year. If
we don't raise money immediately we will be forced to close our doors
and may lose our beloved Sacramento Music Festival.

As you know we just celebrated our 41st Music Festival and we want to
keep it alive. We ask that you consider supporting our cause.
Beginning right now, our campaign's goal is $80,000! Funds from the
campaign will be used to pay off our existing debt in addition to
meeting current expenses, such as office rent and hiring bands for the
2015 event.

All donations are tax deductible. We are asking for your help to save
our Music Festival. You'll also have the chance to win some great
prizes!

NAMES WILL BE ENTERED INTO A RANDOM DRAWING with these donations:

* Donations of $250 or more: A free room at the Holiday Inn for May 21-25, 2015
* Donations of $100 or more: An All-Events Pass for the 2015 Festival
* Donations of $50 or more: A $50 gift certificate
* Donations of any amount: 2 passes to any Jazz Sunday
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

The Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization, and we have been in existence since 1968. We held our
first Music Festival in 1974. We need your help to keep this great
organization going for another 46 years.

In the months ahead we will also be hosting several fundraisers to
help our cause. There will be a swing dance in October at Midtown
Stomp, and a Country swing dance on Sat., Nov. 1 at Crawford's Barn
(Rancho Cordova).
Stay tuned for details.

One of our big fundraisers is our Crab & Pasta Feed to be held next
January. Information on how to purchase tickets for this fun event
will be available in November.

Please send your donation check to Sacramento Traditional Jazz
Society, 106 K Street, Suite 1; Sacramento, CA 95814 or go to our
website, http://www.SacMusicFest.com , and click on the link Donate.

We thank you for your consideration of our request, and look forward
to hearing from you in the very near future.

Sincerely,

The Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society Fund Development Committee

The STJS Board of Directors
