[Dixielandjazz] Finding the key by ear

​I can usually quickly find the key of a recording as it is played  by
trying a few
notes that fit.   A concert Bb is usually a  "flat" key --F# usually a
"sharp" key
as a starter.  I have an "average" ear ,  so better ears can
probably find it instantly.  Wondering what techniques some of
the rest of you use---for those  of us without"perfect pitch" aptitude.
