I try to get the nectar, Charlie; "isn't a poison" is not enough. I have a
few hundred CDs, mostly very good (difficult to know when one buys them
shrink-wrapped or orders from abraod), and of decent length.
And I am one of those who prefer vinyl with its warmer sound, provided the
originals were analogue recordings. A few seconds ago I was still lisrning
to a Grappelli/Bill Coleman double album - finished one LP; another one to
go.

I have replaced two LPs with CDs: one I replaced with a double CD of all
the things Wally Fawkes recorded for Stomp Off (the rest of the material
was not available on LP anymore), and another one for the same reason. And
I still buy LPs from time to time.

My first LP cost IL 24; a year later, as a construction worker, my daily
pay was IL 9.38. An LP was about one tenth of a worker's salary. Were I
to use that for measuring, everything would look cheap.
Cheers
