I've included a link to my photo of a Dixieland band in Prague

banjo player used a rope as a strap.
Is this the band you are referring to? The leader of the Staromestsky 
Dixieland jazz band wore a Confederate Army cap.

and some other people might have seen a band on a bridge in Prague,
powered by a former banjo so toneless and well-judged it was the ideal portable percussion
