For listening, I like Monday nights - Original Tuxedo Jazz Band at Irving Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse in the French Quarter - other nights, Maison Bourbon and Fritzel's in the French Quarter, Snug Harbor and the Spotted Cat on Frenchmens' Street, and the Palm Court Jazz Café.  Snug Harbor is a great place to listen to the very best, but mostly not traditional NOLA jazz.
