[Dixielandjazz] OKOM in New Orleans

Hi,
A friend of mine, a traditional trombone player, is planning a visit to New
Orleans in October (he has not yet given me the exact dates), and would
like to hear some jazz while there.  I don't think that the current
Preservation Hall can fill the bill.
He is not certain whether he should bring his trombone with him.  He'll be
travelling to NYC and Las Vegas in addition to NOLA.
Any advice?
