[Dixielandjazz] Jazz in Paris (in my youth)

Recent submissions on this topic -- and remarkably good young musicians -- inspire me to reflect on the summer I spent in Paris in 1958, studying at the Sorbonne -- and being welcomed to join side-walk skiffle or jazz groups, when not patrolling the clubs . 

My favorite jazz club was Le Caveau de la Huchette, on the left bank, where I was welcomed to sit in by Mezz Merrow and groups there including Maxim Saury, on clarinet.
