We are just trying to get the word out to as many people as possible.  Feel free

to forward this message on to anyone you think might be interested.

Doug and Shelley Finke and I are working on a project that we are hoping you might

be interested in.  Please read the attachment (it's a PDF file--let me know if you

can't open it) and get back to me ASAP if you think you can attend.  We have to have

a minimum of 200 people to make this event go.  There will be lots of great music

and dancing, plus lots of time to visit with your fellow jazz fans.

NOTE:  The cost of the event on the attachment says approximately $1200 per person.

If a spouse or companion is coming with you and will share a room, that person's

cost will only be approximately $700 (does not include travel or beverages).

We are surveying jazz fans to find out who might be interested in participating in

an exciting new Trad Jazz venture called Jazz & Jam to be held in Las Vegas in

January 2014. Read on…

Location: Sunset Station Hotel and Casino, a large hotel conveniently located to

McCarron International Airport, the famous Las Vegas Strip, five golf courses,

Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and the Galleria Mall. The hotel has six restaurants, a

food court, 6 lounges, Regal Cinema Multiplex, a 72-lane bowling alley, and of

Dates: Jan 2-9, 2014 (dates may change by a day or two)

Cost per person: Approximately $1200, including room, meals (Lunch/Dinner),

workshops, jams, dancing, and entertainment. This amount excludes

transportation and beverages.

Events include morning sing-a-longs, Jammer “U” bands, workshops, and

sectionals taught by professional musicians, as well as open jam sessions and

Jammer performances. There will be two professional bands (Grand Dominion

Jazz Band and Bob Schulz Frisco Jazz Band) for listening and dancing. A third

professional band will be added if there are sufficient commitments from jazz fans

who plan to attend the event. There will be dance instruction available

throughout the week taught by experienced dance instructors.
