>Have just seen 'breaking news' text on BBC TV that Kenny Ball has died, 82.

Kenny Ball was one of those successful musicians who has been blasted many
times for "going commercial".  I saw him live probably 12 years ago or so, &
can confirm that he was very much a Jazzman & fantastic musician.  I for one
applaud his success & the pleasure he gave to all that heard him.  He will
certainly be missed.  

Bet he still had his signature full head of black hair up to his last
moments!  :>
