As you know in the 40's the government demanded that all vinyl records

be turned in for them to melt down for the war efforts.  Joe and Brooks

Morris went door to door in Negro town and bought as many jazz records

as they could get.  Joe's collection is about 500 records.  Well played and

still play but lots of static.  David is trying to sell the collection and
he thinks

these records are not worth dime.  I cannot imagine that anyone would expect

records of the 40's to be in good condition.  Joe liked the static as that
is all

he had ever heard.  He wanted me to send them to Diane Krall but I am not

going to fool with that.  Do you know anyone in the jazz club that could
send

me some information on how to grade them if there is such a thing.  All the

people he has talked to naturally want them in great condition.
