Hi all

There's a line in a UK 1930s music hall (vaudeville?) song performed by
a northern British comedian by the name of Charlie Higgins. The song is
called "Mother is Walking Round in Father's Trousers" and it starts

"Ma was once so ladylike, hoisting her dresses and skipping the gutter
for two penny eggs and a quarter of butter .....". Probably no
connection but interesting all the same.
