I believe that this was mentioned here some time ago, but I'll repeat
it: when Doc Cheatham sang "I Want a Little Girl" in Sweden, it met
with a rather hostile reception - the Swedes took it literally as a
sign of pedophilia!
A cuture gap.  Same thing with "boy."  All Negroes were called "boy"
in the southern states, and it spread to the northern states as well.
Whant may be OK in Australia, is taken as an insult in America.
And I know the feeling.  Sometimes, I take a completely innocent
remark as an antisemitic one.  The sensitiveness of persecuted
minorities.
