There was a "kiddie" band there from Frenchmen St. Not bad, but not friendly.
I listened to part of a set there. Dave Ruffner, trombone from Blue Street was with Loose Change. Great player.
Dinner at Acme Oyster, and Monteleone, breakfasts at Cafe du Monde and Beignet next to Royal Sonesta. On business and not enough time to really enjoy.
Best food this side of Paris!

Believe it or not, there is one place on Bourbon Street which I normally avoid: Fritzel's Jazz Club.
Loose Marbles performed there a couple of years ago.

I sat in a set for Steamboat Willie, across from the Royal Sonesta in Musician's Heritage Park, and a set with Loose Change at Maison Bourbon. What a great experience. I will be back in late Jan or early Feb and hope to repeat. I play kinda loud and Maison Bourbon is certainly the place for that.

There are several free newspapers around that have full music listings, and you can also get info on-line at http://offbeat.com http://www.wwoz.org/new-orleans-community/music-calendar and http://frenchmenstreetlive.com/
