The English name for the Spanish Chotis is Schottische 


and few accurate factual statements can seem quite as daft as that one. 
Apart from tracing the dance rhythm the name refers to back to Bohemia 

(which is what the reference works I looked at do).
The word "Schottische" actually crops up in references to Scottish country dancing 

Which might well make the head Reel 


And this does indeed bear some resemblance to a Marty Grosz intro
