Dear Ken and all,
Although I knew from Mike earlier this year that he was very unwell, I am still stunned, and surprised that it has taken so long (from 30 June 2013) for us to learn that the fine man is no longer with us.
I corresponded with him intermittently over many years and was chuffed when he asked me to contribute to the wonderful Jelly Roll Morton site.
Your welcome comment that the site will be maintained and updated by the research team is great news.
Mike will certainly be missed.
But long remembered for his important and definitive website legacy to the jazz world.
