Don't forget that as Jelly Roll Morton said - the "Latin Tinge" was a major
part of New Orleans Jazz. Calypso and other Afro-Caribbean forms of music
are all part of the mix that makes OKOM jazz what it is!
The books by Ned Sublette (performer and musical historian) about the
interconnected music and culture of New Orleans and the Caribbean are well
worth reading.
