Proud Plug... why be modest?
Roy Hubbard was the excellent clarinet player with Zenith Hot Stompers
till he moved to Spain 7 or so years ago.
He's spending a few days in the UK to play with friends and colleagues
and Tony and I have put together a reunion band of former ZHS associates
for a couple of gigs:
Tony Davis tpt, Paul Munnery tbn, Rachel Hayward bjo/gtr, Roger Heath
bass, Nick Ward drums and me on songs. Tony is updating his website but
there are one or two ZHS tracks if you want to get a flavour of what
might happen: www.tony-davis.co.uk

on May 27th at noon.
August 16th to 18th Pershore Jazz Festival

including: the Bohem Ragtime Band (Hungary), Ivory&Gold, Mellow
Avstreih, Amy Roberts, Big Bear Stompers and many more Well worth the
journey and $ beats £ at the moment:-)
You could then wend your way slowly to:
Bude Jazz Festival which starts on August 27th
If you've got this far, apologies for the length! Things slowed down in
September when Tony went into hospital; an infection attacked his aortic
valve and he was there for 5 weeks while they dealt with the infection
and replaced the valve.
Normal service is now resumed and if anyone needs a trumpet dep (sub)
for Olympia jazz, we plan to be there despite the tumbling pound.
That's all,
Jude
