[Dixielandjazz] Evan Christopher at Lockerbie Jazz Festival

I've heard Evan Christopher a fw times. He played at the Caesarea
festival and was great!
I was very excited when he was scheduled to play at the Opera house,
and long in advance bought tickets for two shows. Most of my friends
came, too, with great expectations. What a disappointment! Evans
himself played well enough, but the accompanying band was awful!
These people didn't even know St James Infirmary! apparently
assembled by the organizer, himself a modernist, they were the mosr
unsypathetic bunch insofar as Evans' music was concerned. The second
show was a little better - he must have had a few words with them -
but still far from good!
In any event, a friend and I are going to hear him again when he comes
(January or February) with Django a la Creole. But I am not sure that
my other friends will!
Cheers
