[Dixielandjazz] Should "Live" bands also use the same musicians on their recordings?

I'm not clear from the article as to if the band members are also
"lip-synch playing" their instruments to a pre-recorded track during "live"
performances or actually playing.

Anyway - probably not the most important news in the world...
