Michael Zirpolo, Author In Residence
At Bunny Berigan Jazz Jubilee
 
 
     Michael Zirpolo of Canton, Ohio, and author of the newly published Mr. Trumpet; the Trials, Tribulations and Triumph of Bunny Berigan will be the “Author In Residence” at the 2012 Bunny Berigan Jazz Jubilee. He will bring home the history of the nation’s finest Trumpet player, Bunny Berigan,  raised in Fox Lake, WI.  Mike will be making guest appearances, talking on the radio and offering his power point/musical shows of the great Bunny Berigan.
     The Fox Lake Public Library will be the site of his first appearance on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 6:30 PM., when they host an Author Reception for him.  Mike will be presenting an outstanding power point program of photos of “Bunny” Berigan, his family, band and other famous people with whom he worked.  He will also present music that represents the great trumpet player, Bunny Berigan. The library is delighted to host the reception which is open to the public.  Refreshments will be enjoyed through out the evening.
      Thursday, May 17th Mike can be heard on the radio, WBEV, in an interview with Craig Warmbold at 12:30 PM.  Julie Flemming, Director of the Bunny Berigan Jazz Jubilee held May 18 – 20, 2012, in Fox Lake, WI. will be joining him on the show.
      Friday, May 18th Brenda Murphy will be interviewing Mike on her morning program which features authors.  This is part of Good Karma Broadcasting and one can call 920-885-4442 for the time and station.
      Also on Friday at 1:30 PM in the Fox Lake Community Center, Mike will present his power point program about the “Bunny” Berigan of Fox Lake.  This program is Free to the public and will be held in the Council Chambers of the Fox Lake City Hall.
       Saturday, May 19th will find Mike at Book World in Beaver Dam from 10 AM to 1 PM.  At Book World he will be available to visit with people about “Bunny” and his new biography of Bunny,  just released in October of 2011.  After seeing his book everyone will understand that Michael Zirpolo is the current living expert on the life and times of Bunny Berigan.  Mike enjoys talking with people who know nothing about “Bunny” Berigan and those who have previous knowledge and still enjoy playing the music of Bunny Berigan.
         During the Bunny Berigan Jazz Jubilee, May 18 – 20, Mike will be making different presentations in the Council Chambers at Fox Lake City Hall.  The Jazz Jubilee and programs will actually take place in the same building, just different locations. Each program will be a power point show along with the music of Bunny Berigan.  Times and programs are:

      At all appearances and programs the book Mr. Trumpet; The Trials, Tribulations, and Triumph of Bunny Berigan will be available for purchase and inscription by Michael Zirpolo.  This may be a rare appearance of Mike in Fox Lake, WI, as he is a practicing attorney in Canton, Ohio. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of this very special feature of the 2012 Bunny Berigan Jazz Jubilee.
