Indeed.  I saw the band in Nice in 1977, and it was great!  At the
time, I thought that its arrangements were very tight.  I taped "I Hpe
Gabriel Likes My Music" only once.  An hour or so later it played a
very different version of the tune, but by the time I realized it it
was in the middle, so I did not tape it then.  If I remember
correctly, it was the only pre-bop number the band played.  Although
"Giant Steps" is not on the LP I have, I'm pretty sure the band played
it - it definitely played something written by Coltrane.
What a great band!
