[Dixielandjazz] How do they get these GIGS ?

Tom Wiggins and I have been in conversation about how he gets gigs and
attributes a lot of success with www.gigsalad.com   I have listed our band
there and got a couple of local inquiries, so it seems that people planning
concert series are looking on line, especially as the job of finding bands
is being assumed by younger folks.  There is a free listing option, but Tom
said it was cost effective for him to pay the highest rate listed there,
but you have to be willing to travel to get the gigs.  It is obvious from
his message that he lands high paying gigs and is not afraid of asking top
buck.

The site allows you to upload sound files and photos, possibly videos, and
you are given more space with the higher fee options.

I'm sure if he reads this post, he will pass on his strategy using this
booking site.
