Which reminds me: One evening, Donna and I went to hear a small group 
out of the New Orleans Function at a Jaffa bar (a good place - one of 
the few in the area that serves English beer on tap). I don't usually 
start conversation with people sitting at another table, but that guy 
wore a "New Orleans Jazz Club of Northern California" t-shirt! We 
have been in touch ever since. And while he came to our jazz evenings 
only once, he often comes to live gigs (and it is I who usually lets 
him know).
