He folks:

Here is a link to several youtube videos by this young 8 year old lad in
Germany who has fallen head over heals in love with New Orleans and it's
music.

Nancy Giffin turned me on to him last week and I have been chatting with him
and his mum on facebook,

I think he has tremendous natural talent and he needs all the encouragement
he can get, I predict we will hear a lot about his boy just like we have
about Trombone Shorty who started out about the same time frame. There
is another video of him playing with Trombone Shorty in New Orleans back in
April.

Noteable that Trombone Shorty would invite him up to play with him and
proving once again that Young impressionable musicians do not forget how
they got a chance. Great to see Shorty giving back with all the success he
is enjoying.

Hi names is Thomas Wiggins, and he is already calling me Uncle Tom :))

I hope many of you will befriend him and encourage him on fb and invite him
up to play with you when and if you can.

you can find him on facebook: Baiba Wiggins

I have already introduced him to Tyree Glenn Jr. who lives in Germany who
will connect with him.

He played Solo for an hour & 20 minutes on the corner in New Orleans back in
April and got $170.00 in his trombone case.

He then sat in with a Street band on Jackson Square for 2.5 hours and they
only got enough to split with each player getting $17.00 Little Thomas
did not take any of their money and said he was just happy to play with
them, and he understood they needed it for a living. Kid has Class too.

I just heard form his mum that he got a call for his first gig in Germany
tonight, $80.00 for about 45 minutes.

This is What Jazz for Kids can and will do. Take it to them they WILL
embrace it.

My band played for the Graduation Ceremony for a local Boys elementary
school Wed. morning and what a great response to the music and the band,
they had never seen or heard anything about Second Line or New Orleans jazz
before. Have already been invited by three other schools to come perform
at their schools. Here we are building a future audience for OKOM about
300 kids at a time, Bigger audiences than some of the Trad Jazz Society
events I have attended, and damned sure more embracing and enthusiastic.

Enjoy
