Well, after saying we wouldn't have a new cat, I've just collected one. 
And he's a film star!
When our old tom Thumper died a couple of months ago we decided we 
wouldn't have another.
Two weeks ago we were watching on the television Liverpool FC play 
Tottenham. A cat ran onto the
field and the game had to be stopped whilst he ran around the pitch. 
Eventually a steward picked him up.
He was taken to an animal rescue. In the meantime 58,000 people  
befriended him on Twitter and thousands more saw him on You Tube.
Thousands of people applied to adopt him.
We got him.
The football club had called him 'Shankly' after our most famous 
manager. But we've changed his name
to 'Daniel' after Daniel Agger, Liverpool's Danish full back, in whose 
restaurant we often eat and occasionally meet Mr Agger.

actual match, at 'The Anfield Cat' and at half a dozen nearby places.
At the moment he's hiding in the attic. Had enough publicity for a bit.
