Private grant benefits the AJP Society....

As we close in on April we are all a buzz with activity that is putting this event
on. We couldn't be happier to report that we continue to receive support from all
of our "veteran patrons" and new ones as well. We have been proud to say that we
 have patrons from all 50 states and to date.. 9 Countries. This year we are thrilled
to have received Patronage from Coromandel Valley Australia officially making that
"Patrons travel from ALL 50 STATES and 10 COUNTRIES"
If that weren't enough we also received a private grant from two of our favorite
 patrons that shall remain anonymous. This grant will fund our application as a 
Federal Tax Exempt Non Profit Society supporting our beloved American Art JAZZ! 
Pualani hasworked many long hours to get to this point and to receive this wonderful
blessing just makes us beam with pride! Thanks to you all again for your letters
 and mementos and mostly your words of encouragement.

The Atlanta Jazz Preservation (AJP) Society teams with NFCC

North Fulton Community Charities officially launched the "Have A Heart for NFCC"
 campaign.  With several public and private parties and support from local  businesses
and restaurants, we are well underway to achieve the goal of  $200,000.

The purpose of this month long event is to secure much needed funds to support our
programs while  increasing the awareness of the needs of our families.  We need 
the  help of the entire community to assist our neighbors in need.  "When I  starting
volunteering a couple of years ago, I had no idea how NFCC  would change my life.
Today, NFCC continues to bless me so much more  than I could ever give.  Choose 
to make a difference and see how it will  change your life," said Mary Good, Event
Co-Chair.

Joe Gransden's 18 Piece Big Band joins the lineup...
Folks we have made it a mission to bring Atlanta musicians to the PARTY and when
 we go out on the town to see Live Jazz whether it's at Twain's or Cafe 290 or The
Rialto. Churchill Grounds or Freddy Cole's birthday celebration at the Atlanta History
Center. One guy keeps showing up and that is Joe Gransden. Someone told me the other
night that if there were a "Mob Boss of Jazz" in Atlanta that would be Joe. I like
that and we hope you enjoy his vocal styling and his amazing band of what we think
are among the best musicians on any circuit and we have them right here in Atlanta
for you.

AJP selected to produce exhibit for Roswell Cultural Arts..
We just love  Roswell and have since I moved hear in 1976. When we were asked how
we might help support the states largest Celebration of Black History that is Roswell
Roots we immediately said YES. We are proud to share with Roswell our private collection
of photographs, mementos and historical documents highlighting "The Dean of Bass"
Milt Hinton. Those of you in the are pleas join us thi Monday February 13th in The
Rotunda of Roswell City Hall for an opening reception to includ The Will Goble Jazz
Trio
