Hello all
I know one case of the addition of a letter to change the meaning in a
jazz vocal.
It's Rube Bloom's vocal in the Joe Venuti Blue Four recording of /The
Blue Room/ (7 September 1928).
Bloom sings 'Robinson Caruso' instead of 'Robinson Crusoe' and the
addition of the 'a' actually helps the scanning.
You can find it on the Red Hot Jazz Archive and it's a must. Jimmy
Dorsey's baritone sax and clarinet playing is particularly fine.
All the best,
Anton
