Steve seemed to think I was unaware of Tony Scott's quieter playing --
a useful misunderstanding since he provided these delightful links!  


I note Marek's reference to LA DANZA 

a tune which should be played prestissimo by a clarinetist with perfect technique 

and unmusically -- the more mechanically the better 

and only in the cause of laughter 


A nice lyric tenor, Gigli or Tito Schipa, is what it requires for a serious performance.
