Thanks for your comment and tip.

I already have Eric Clapton's "Story of the White Blues", and some Wynton 
Marsalis on the Eric? Burns' Jazz History.

I managed to open my mind some fifty years ago after 14 years of rejecting 
modern jazz and swing in my callow youth.

I'll let you know how I reacted after the show.
