I was listening to a recording of the Chad Mitchell Trio yesterday. It was
recorded live and in one of the conversations someone asked Jim McGuinn:
"why are you playing a 5-string banjo when everyone else plays a 4-string
banjo?"

My how times have changed. The recording was the "Mighty Day on Campus"
album which was made around 1961.
