The trouble with these comparisons about coffee is the basic assumption that
Americans can make coffee. They can`t. Americans, even with all their
special and expensive machines cannot produce a good cup of coffee to save
their lives.
Oh they go on...and...on...and...on about lattes and espressos and
cappuccinos. They have grinders and roasters and filters. This brand and
that brand. In packets, in jars, in sachets. Its endless. They talk
learnedly about what diameter grains of something or other should be
sprinkled on the top of their double whip, semi saturated, hand picked beans
from the top of a mountain in Peru..They hold up the line in the diner while
they pontificate about a cup of coffee which they once had in Cancun in
1984. It is even worse than deciding what sort of bread they have their
sandwiches made from. Great day in the Morning IT IS JUST A CUP OF COFFEE.

Now tea! There is something about which you can have a proper, informed
discussion. One spoonful of tea per person plus one for the pot. Warm the
teapot. Take the teapot to the boiling kettle NOT the other way round. The
kettle is not boiling until there is a yard of steam coming from the spout.
Do not use tea bags....oh yes a proper drink is tea.

The debbil made me do it
