True - but not quite. Leonard Feather played a Yaged record to JT at
a blindfold test, and Teagarden at first said "Goodman," but then
corrected it to "Sol Yaged." Apprently, hot hundred percent a
copycat. And he sounded quite differently in various contexts.
But did Benny play Dixie?

A difficult question. His early recordings with "The Bad Boys" were
Dixieland. Then his style developed and evolved into somethin else.
We heard some BG (my all-time No. 1 favourite) at tonight's jazz
evening; even if not a dixielander, Goodman certainly knew how to play
the blues!
Cheers
