Folks--
Just got a message from Dave Gannett, the best jazz/dixieland tuba-player in the known universe, that his website TubaGear is back up:
http://tubagear.com/
He's got a ton of downloadable recordings of tuba, band, and dixieland music, but unfortunately if you have a Mac it doesn't work, so he's looking for a Mac compression-utility. Please send him an email at dave at tubagear.com if you know of one.
A couple of years ago i bought and downloaded a bunch of MP3-recordings from him, such as "An Evening with Bill Bell and His German Band", "Dimensions -- Dave Gannett, Tuba", some Black Dogs dixieland recordings, some circus-band recordings of Henry Fillmore and Merle Evans, Red Lehr on sousaphone, plus others, and they were easy to download. Highly recommended.
There's even a FREE downloadable MP3-CD you can get at
http://tubagear.com/Optin.html
of a Christmas album "Noel" featuring the Phoenix Boys Choir and the Phoenix Brass Quintet.
