[Dixielandjazz] Sacto Fest

I am appalled at the venom that is being spewed at the Sacramento Jazz fest.
 I am a past board member and very active volunteer at STJS.
Kaye I find it offensive to be called "Stupid" because we did not handle your washboard concert in the way you liked. We at Stjs have been working very hard the last few years to put a product on that people would want to pay money to come and see. The washboard concert has always been a "Novelty Group" nothing to be taken too seriously. In fact in 37 years I have Never attended a "washboard concert" with so much quality music available, I just could.nt justify the time for it. I don't mean to be rude, but we do "invite musicians to participate at our festival, and you have a choice to join us or not. .
 For the Washboard players that I know, love and respect, I mean no disrespect to you. I believe that washboard is a fun part of heritage music, and has it's place. I have problems with performers who come and make money at our festival for years, and then turn around and publicly, call us stupid.

The Washboard concert at the Firehouse Lot for 27 yrs, always had a full house- standing room only.  Last year they published they wouldn't have it - then changed their minds  the last minute, publiished the wrong time & Venue - guess what - we still had more people there than the All-Stars. 

This year they say they are not doing it again -  I guess you can't fix stupid....
