Joe Willie "Pinetop" Perkins passed away in Austin, Texas, last Monday, he was 97. He had accompanied Muddy Waters and Sonny Boy Williamson. His last album was "Joined at the Hip: Pinetop Perkins & Willie 'Big Eyes' Smith". He initiated Ike Turner to the boogie-woogie, and took the seat of Otis Spann in Muddy Waters’ band for 12 years.
