I have a great fondness for this, the first recording of Lazy River, by
Hoagy and his band of NY studio musicians. It's interesting he gave the
first chorus to clarinetist Jimmy Dorsey, since the tune was written
(melody) by New Orleans clarinetist Sidney Arodin (who sadly never recorded
it).

I'm wondering if anyone else hears Hoagy sing "liver" instead of "river" at
1:26 on this 1930 version

Sadly this is not the best quality recording since it seems to have been
taken off the original 78.

If he does sing "liver" it's especially amusing since I've heard musicians
sing the line "Up your lazy liver with a Carter's pill" !!!

This is one of the few recordings I've heard with the verse, played by Tommy
Dorsey.

Regards,
Marvin
