Steve Allen wrote just the words.

Ray Bauduc and Bob Haggard are credited with writing it.

The first time the band saw it, Zeke Zarchy was playing lead trumpet. In fact, on the original lead trumpet part, it says "Zeke Zarchy."

I asked Zeke if, when they played it for the first time, did he suspect it would become a Jazz standard?

He said, "Hell no. We played hundreds of arrangements of new songs, most of which we never played again."

If my memory serves me, I think that I heard there is actually no South Rampart St in New Orleans.

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.
She said, "I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3 seconds."
I bought her a bathroom scale.

Molly and I used to sing it as a duet.
