Perhaps not everyone on the list will dig her, but IMO, Rachelle  
Ferrell is one of the best jazz singers ever. She makes full use of  
her extraordinary voice as an instrument. She's been on the scene for  
about 40 years and is from the Philadelphia Main Line Suburb of  
Berwyn. Six plus octave range.
