Note the last sentence in this facebook release by the West Chester
Patch. <grin>

Also note that this Dixieland band competes favorably with Folk and
Rock Music Bands when it comes to public park gigs and audiences
comprised of regular folks. <grin>

Tell Your Neighbors About Patch

The West Chester Department of Parks and Recreation has named its
lineup for the annual summer concert series beginning in July. These
concerts are free and open to the public, and they occur on the last
Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in Marshall Square Park.

Kicking off the series is Stonehaven Minstrels. Stonehaven Minstrels
is a West Chester-based folk band with a heavy emphasis on string
work. Their influences sound more English than Celtic. They will be
performing on July 29.

For August, the band Back2Life is on deck. Back2Life is a more
traditional cover band that focuses on upbeat pop and rock standards.
They will be performing on August 26.

To close out the series, the Barbone Street Jazz Band will perform on
September 30. Obviously, jazz is the main focus of the Barbone Street
Jazz Band, but the emphasis is on the "Dixieland" style of jazz.
"Dixieland" is just a fancy way to say New Orleans influenced.
